life just goes on. it gets adapted to the new normal.
no matter how high or low the life gets. it just goes on. regardless.
your phone lights up. a friend's message sits there. you glance at it, think "i'll respond later," and set it down. days pass. the notification fades. they stop reaching out. you think about saying something, but now it feels weird. too much time has passed. life just goes on.
or maybe you're rushing through your day. someone holds the door. you nod but forget to say thank you. they don't say anything. you don't think about it again. life just goes on. but if you do, you'd share a small smile. a different connection.
or that argument from months ago. you know you were harsh. you know sorry would mean something. but the moment keeps slipping away. becomes harder to bring up. eventually it's just "the way things are now." life adapts. it goes on.
these aren't dramatic failures. there's no consequence that screams at you. no cosmic intervention. just the quiet accumulation of moments where you either did or didn't. and somehow, life continues either way. but the story it tells the otherwise.
and sometimes this happens to the mechanical processes too.
it's not just people, systems drift too.
like an outsider glances at your process and spots something that you've normalized it into invisibility. like how the toyota’s manufacturing went on for years until an engineer visited the united states and saw how the super markets system worked and went back to japan and created a ‘just in time’ method which helped toyota by magnitudes.
i feel this always, fresh eyes with some good intentions and knowledge always brings good insights to any aspect.
if said differently,
new perspectives from outsiders can reveal new ways we've overlooked simply because we've normalized our current way of doing things.
so we don’t know what’s gonna happen from which angle. like a random folk sitting next to you on the train might walk you through a marvelous thought that you never thought of. or someone who you met in your college might change your perspective of the way you look at life. or someone you met shopping mall eventually gelled with you and might walk you into a black hole spiraling you all the way down.
i also kinda remember one of our professors from my bachelor's used to tell us that she’d never put on earphones while on a public transit. but rather watch people. she’d just let the randomness hit her. they sometimes sprout really good thoughts.
and we also know the aspect of “there’s nothing wrong to ask” or “just because you asked” they choose to do it differently. like i was talking few of the microsoft folks in seattle and some has more comp of stocks than the rest and that’s because they asked while getting hired. just because they asked.
but obviously common, we cannot ask any stupid thing to anyone. it has to genuinely make sense and logically solid for the ask to fit into the environment.
some do it and reap the advantage.
some ask the wrong people in the wrong rooms and get ripped.
yet life continues regardless. it just goes on. regardless.
here is a lil poem style one
life continues regardless.
if
you had a new insight or not.
you learned that skill or not.
you worked on that new idea or not.
you checked up on your friend or not.
you stood as a helping hand or not.
you said what needed to be said or not.
you forgave them or not.
it just goes on. regardless.
and, obviously, the timing of discoveries, insight, action we take up on, shapes our unique path. maybe that’s the beauty of it. the same truth discovered and acted upon at different times creates different lives.
there's no cosmic pause button waiting for us to figure it out. no dramatic consequence that forces our hand. just the quiet accumulation of days where we either did or didn't.
i think the ability to "figure something out anyways" rather than lamenting is a powerful life skill. and, in it, money is the token that we trade on. it’s needed to survive. it’s looked up on as a value.
even if our axioms did not let us do something, it wouldn’t stop someone else.
they need that token. tokens make humans do all sorts of ruckus.
so what’s the purpose of life anyway?
i at least don’t think it is to be the top token holder
but maybe it is to leave a mark. mark to any substantial level.
life continues anyways of whatever we do. so better i guess is to maximize the surface tension.
tomorrow will come whether we want it or not.
life will adapt to whatever happens whether we choose it or not.
